My Approach
Integrative Therapy can represent several kinds of integration.
-
Integrating difficult experiences and parts of the self.
-
Integrating into the Dutch culture / integrating cultural identities.
-
Integrating various therapy techniques to best serve your individual needs.
You and I work together to explore and maps out what’s going on. We may look for clues in how you grew up, in your daily life actions and interactions, in your present moment experience, in the way you perceive yourself, and so on. I will help you express and make sense of complex and overwhelming thoughts and emotions. My initial stance is generally person-centered and I tend to focus on the present moment experience, such as how your emotions are represented in the body. But my toolbox includes theories and techniques from psychodynamic therapy, schema therapy, existential therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
